INTENSE PULSED LIGHT BODY TREATMENTS

Treatment Overview

Thread veins are blood vessels that become enlarged and visible due to weakened valves, which cause blood to pool rather than flow to the heart.

Alma Laser’s Harmony XL PRO vascular treatments offer effective, non-invasive solutions that close these veins and reduce or eliminate their appearance.

A variety of technologies are used to target the affected blood vessels beneath the skin, leaving our clients with smooth, clear skin on body and face.

IPL body treatments are safe and effective and provide consistent, long-term results.

Life style and hormonal changes can affect the distribution of colour (melanin) in our skin, leading to the appearance of sunspots, age spots, pigmentation and uneven skin texture and skin on face and sometimes body.

IPL treatments remove the appearance of spots and pigmentation by targeting the melanin in the darkened area, clearing all layers of the pigmentation and revealing even-toned, unblemished skin.

The treatments are specifically designed for client’s comfort and are safe and effective for all skin types, including dark skin.

IPL technology at Harbour Lily Laser Clinic in Bristol is a safe and effective treatment of sun damage, age spots, thread veins, freckles and melasma on face and body.

The Harmony laser system uses varying wavelengths of light energy to stimulate a heating reaction in the skin tissue.

This helps diminish the number of damaged skin cells, leaving you with smoother, more even-looking skin.

What is IPL?

IPL (Intense Pulsed Light), often referred to as a photo-facial, is the process of using broad spectrum wavelengths of light to target skin pigment imperfections caused by melanin or blood.  IPL has been used successfully in the treatment of freckles, age spots, thread veins, sun damage, enlarged pores, rosacea and irregular hyperpigmentation.  It can be used to treat the face, neck, décolletage or hands.

How does IPL work?

The technology uses a high-powered, hand-held, computer-controlled flashgun to deliver an intense, visible, broad-spectrum pulse of light. The beam of light energy passes through the skin and seeks out irregularities in pigment, damaging the abnormalities and causing them to be deconstruct and subsequently be absorbed by the body, which causes them to fade over time.

Pre-treatment advice and Treatment Duration.

A consultation with our aesthetician will be necessary to discuss your specific skin concerns and the duration of treatment.

Post-Treatment Expectations

IPL will heat the skin and can give a low level of momentary discomfort during treatment (likened to pinging an elastic band). Cooling is used to reduce discomfort and to protect the skin in contact with the device.

Due to the heat transfer, the treatment may cause temporary redness, which will reside within 24 hours

For rosacea or thread vein removal, veins may disappear immediately or become more prominent before fading over the following month.  Age spots will get darker over 3-7 days before flaking off or becoming absorbed by the skin over a two-week period.

Clients also experience smoother skin and a reduction in lines and wrinkles over 1-3 months following treatment.

We offer a complimentary consultation and patch test at our Bristol Clinic.

Are you unsure of which treatment would be the most appropriate for YOUR skin? Your aesthetic therapist will be delighted to help you decide on the day of your consultation as all treatments are bespoke. Treatments are designed specifically for you and the results you want to achieve.

Most treatments at our laser skin clinic are designed to be taken as a course of 6. However our clients will notice visible results almost straight away (subject to a specific treatment).
